Rock The Rock Malta 2017!
Rock The Rock Music Festival 2017 is upon us! It is no exaggeration to say that Rock The Rock is the biggest Rock and Metal festival in Malta. For its first edition we’ve gone big and we’ve gone bold in order to ensure that Rock The Rock 2017 is an edition which no true Rock and Metal Music fan will miss!
Friday 11th August
For the Friday, we’ve billed the genre defining Mayhem on the RTR Metal Stage. Supporting bands Dead Label (Ireland), local legends Martyrium, never-to-be-missed Sahhar and the incredibly talented and fast rising Decline The Fall make the bill one which will leave your head spinning. The legendary status held by Mayhem will prove not to disappoint all true Metal fans.
And speaking about legendary status, headlining the RTR Rock Stage on the Friday will be none other than the legends of 70’s Rock: Focus! Supported by the great local talent of Super Sponge Trio, 26 Other Worlds, Ferret and Noogie’s Crew, the RTR Team has made sure that a night on this stage will be as legendary as the headlining act itself!
Saturday 12th August
Such an epic Friday billing may make one assume that Rock The Rock on Saturday will be a little less massive. Maybe the RTR Team put all their eggs in one basket and made one huge Friday. One might think it impossible to follow up the other days with an equally epic lineup. Think again! Headlining the RTR Metal Stage on Saturday 12th August are none other than the masters of Death Metal, Entombed AD. And for a guaranteed smashing day, Entombed will be supported by True Lie from Italy and the Maltese local greats Victims of Creation, Animamortua and Loathe.
And on the RTR Rock Stage, it is with great pleasure that we are hosting the incredibly talented Ray Wilson, ex-Genesis frontman, who’ll be playing all of your favorite Genesis tracks and then some! Supported by local greats such as It Came From The Desert, A Broken Design, Pyramid Suns and Dusk, this is truly a Saturday night for the Ages.
Sunday 13th August
“OK, but with such an epic Friday and Saturday lineup,” the naysayer in you might say, “there’s no way the Sunday is going to be worth climbing out of bed for.” Can we say ‘think again’ again? Nah, we’ll go with: ‘you’re damn right it is!’
Headlining the RTR Metal Stage on Sunday the 13th of August are none other than the epic kings of Death Metal – Vader! If you know this band, then you’re almost as excited about this as we are, if you don’t know them, then holy crap are you in for a treat! Supported by Thy Legion, Insurgence, Bound To Prevail and Fallen Icon, you are definitely not going to be disappointed.
And still, that’s not the last of it, because for the Rock The Rock Music Festival Rock Stage 2017, we’re hosting the super-legendary Lucifer’s Friend! Kings of Progressive Rock, this is one of those acts that no Prog Rock fan can in good conscience miss. Again, supported by four fantastic local bands: Native, Black State Believers, 12th Ode and Krishna, this is a bill to die and kill for!
